About Me
I believe that successful teams nurture three things: creativity, collaboration, and competition. Creativity fuels innovation because it begins with a critical eye—one that questions the way things are and sees opportunities where others see obstacles. As creative teams come together, they become more willing to exchange ideas, and with a dash of this and a pinch of that, new processes or products begin to take shape. Collaboration builds trust by creating an environment where those ideas can be sharpened, challenged, and molded into their best possible form. And competition—especially with ourselves—drives excellence. The demand to be better than we were yesterday is, to me, the highest standard a team can uphold.
I graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2018 and was commissioned as a Surface Warfare Officer, serving five years on active duty. I completed two tours onboard two destroyers—first on USS McCampbell (DDG-85) in Yokosuka, Japan, and later on USS Sampson (DDG-102), in Everett, Washington. In 2023, I chose to leave the Navy to begin a new chapter in the private sector.
On both of my tours, I held roles that mirrored a civilian Chief of Staff in scope and responsibility. On my first ship, as the Assistant Chief Engineer, I managed a department of 80 sailors and ensured equipment readiness throughout the ship’s engineering plant. I was also responsible for monitoring onboard administrative compliance with fleet standards, and mentoring junior officers as they led their own divisions. On my second ship, I served as the Anti-Terrorism Officer and Assistant Weapons Officer, responsible for training and leading internal threat response teams, planning and executing mission plans and operations, and acting as Chief of Staff to the Weapons Officer. I learned to thrive in high stakes environments, where I found balance between taking necessary risks and maintaining discipline under pressure.
When it was time to transition out of the Navy in the summer of 2023, I joined a commercial construction firm in the Pacific Northwest called Valley Electric, where I helped manage $30 million in electrical infrastructure upgrades across Washington State. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Preconstruction, I used my background in large scale, industrial project management to maintain timelines, clarify project scope, and bring engineers, clients, and field crews onto the same page.
In February of 2024, I left Valley Electric to see some of the less watery parts of the world. I spent the next six months traveling with only a backpack, trekking through the Andes and Chilean Patagonia, camping under the stars in the African bush, admiring the cisterns beneath Constantinople, watching the sun rise over the Himalayas, standing among ancient Greek ruins, and cheering on Team USA at the Paris Olympics.
In August 2024, I returned home to St. Louis, Missouri to support a family health matter and to position myself for success in the next phase of my career. I relocated to New York City in January 2025. I’m looking to join a team that’s focused on expansion and growth. I am pursuing operations-focused positions where I can leverage my strategic planning, execution, and leadership experience to help a growing organization achieve its goals.
I bring a creative approach to problem solving, a collaborative mindset to planning, and a competitive spirit that chases perfection. I’m excited to join a team where I can contribute meaningfully—and grow into a leader who shapes what’s next.
